I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and although it would be better for you if you continue in your study, as indicated by such Scriptures as John 17:3 and Isaiah 48:17 & 18, I personally would appreciate your being up front and honest with me. Just say: "I am no longer interested in continuing my study of The Bible." Then perhaps you may wish to explain the reasoning behind your decision. The reason I say that is not because they want to be nosey, but if there reasons you want to stop that could be addressed, then that might be the course to take. For example, if it is due to a lack of time, perhaps less time could be spent on each study. If it is opposition from friends or family members, perhaps arrangements could be made so that it would not be such an issue for them. If it is just lack of interest on your part, then the one studying with you would want to know this so they could make adjustments in their own schedule based on the fact you were discontinuing your study.
