In Luke's Gospel, the Holy Family never went to Egypt. After the forty days for Mary's purification, they took Jesus from Bethlehem to Jerusalem, to be presented at the Temple, then returned to their home in Nazareth. They remained in Nazareth, because Luketells us that they travelled with Jesus each year from Nazareth to Jerusalem for the Passover.
In Matthew's Gospel, the magi asked King Herod where to find the baby born to be king of the Jews. King Herod feared for his kingdom and sought to kill Jesus. This must have been at least a few years before he died of old age, because history tells us that he was not very concerned about the inheritance for his sons, and so must have feared for his own tenure. The young family fled to Egypt and remained there until Herod had died, but returned during the short reign of Arhelaus. They would have spent several years in Egypt.

A:The flight to Egypt is in Matthew's Gospel, where it is used to draw several parallels between Moses and Jesus. The Holy Family began to return from Egypt to their home in Bethlehem, recalling the Exodus from Egypt to the Promised Land, when Joseph was warned in a dream of further danger in Judah and so turned aside and travelled to Galilee where they settled in a city called Nazareth.
Joseph was warned in a dream to take the young child and his mother and flee to Egypt untill he hears from God again. (Matthew 2.13) So "the holy family" that fled to Egypt, were Joseph and Mary and Jesus.
The Holy Family is the family of Jesus, Mary, and, Joseph.
Egypt is mentioned positively in the 3 holy books ; Torah , Bible and Quraan .
