500 of the original 5,000 printed copies are believed to exist. There is no way to know for sure. If you find one, it is very collectible.
Four original copies exist.
I don't know about the book of Mormons but the Qura'an is the same, down to the letter, as it was when it was revealed to the Prophet 1430 years ago. Old copies from it exist in museums and it the are exactly the same. When it was revealed, Allah (Arabic name for god) promised that it will be protected from change until judgment day, and it has.
Many didn't. Disease was rife, and many died from the cold. Those who survived, were the lucky ones.

I could find no record of any commercially published book called "The Secrets of Mormons". Perhaps you have the title wrong? There are many anti-Mormon books with similar titles, but obviously an anti-Mormon book would not say that Mormons go to heaven. If you'd like to learn about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) from the source, please visit the "Related Link" below.
This could be due to several reasons.First, the Shakers were more insular and kept to themselves, while Mormons have a very extensive evangelism effort and proliferate into their communities. Since Mormons were out and about, people had a higher chance of being annoyed by them.Second, the Shakers were, for the most part, a smaller group. The Mormons are ever-expanding. People felt more threatened by the Mormons and in some cases were worried that Mormons would take over their cities and towns. There were more Mormons, so there were more to persecute.Third, the Shakers have died out, but Mormonism lives on. Nobody persecutes Shakers anymore because they don't exist, but Mormons are still persecuted by many to this day.
there are about 13,000,000 in the world
