The Lord Buddha practised and taught self realization and enlightenment through meditation. Buddhism does not teach anything about good deeds and sins nor does it teach in terms of "good, better and best". Buddhism does teach about 'skilful acts' (good deeds) and 'unskilful acts' (sins). The aim of Buddhism is to show one how to live a happy life here and now, as eternity is all around us. Buddhism does not teach of Heaven and hell as "absolutes". To do that would limit God or "The Ultimate Good" to a "destination". In conclusion, if one does not expect to find the ultimate good on any level, one will not be disappointed when one does not find it, because in Buddhism it does not exist; there will always be something "better than the best".

There are a number of different manifestations of each Buddha and each one can hold various objects, or symbolically touch the ground, or hold the hands in various poses. The medicine Buddha holds a lotus flower and a bowl, for mixing medicines. Other Buddhas hold different objects, like a dorje (symbolic lightening bolt), a mandala (wheel of dharma), a sword or a drum. Each of these objects has different meanings, and is used to help practitioners concentrate on particular aspects of a teaching. The sword for example, is symbolic of the sword of wisdom, which cuts through illusions.
1. To do good and to refrain from doing evil is the teaching of all the Buddhas. 2. All states are unsatisfactory, impermanent and without a permanent, abiding self.
City of Ten Thousand Buddhas was created in 1974.
Both teach about compassion for the suffering. Jesus and Buddha both had disciples. Both religions have orders of monks and nuns. Both use halos in their art to depict the enlightened souls. Both do charity and missionary work.
The number of people who are fully realized enlightened Buddhas is unknown. Since we all have a Buddha spirit in us, we can all become fully enlightened. Therefore the number of potential Buddhas is the same as the number of people alive.
