The Bible teaches that the languages exist because at one time, mankind only had one language, and they tried to build a tower to Heaven, which displeased God. It is possible that the tower was connected in some way with false worship, but the Bible text does not explain that. Anyway, then God, in order to stop the building of the tower, caused the people to begin to speak in many different languages, and since they could no longer communicate with each other, they did not finish building the tower. The story is found in Genesis 11:1-9.

What are the causes of teaching English in British legacy?

Assuming that your question is asking why English continues to be taught in former British colonies, there are three reasons. First, it has become part of the culture, like playing cricket. Second, it is a means of communication among the different ethnic groups in the country who do speak different regional languages or who have no written language. Third, English is the language of international commerce, which the country's own languages are not.

What impact did the latin language have on rome?

The language of the Romans was Latin. Western languages have adopted and adapted the Latin alphabet. The romance languages, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian are languages derived from Latin. There are many words of Latin origin in the English language due to two causes. One was that Latin was the language of the church in the Middle Ages. The other was the Norman conquest of England. French became the language of the court and many French words entered the English language. Most of these words are of Latin origin. Latin was the lingua franca of the European elites in the Middle ages and Renaissance. For many centuries, until recently, the European elites studied Latin and Greek at school. Many Latin words are used in medicine, law and theology.

Why are there so many different languages in the world?

One User Said:Because humans had no means to communicate in prehistorical times..the lived often far apart, in some tribal areas of the world so, one language developed without influence of another. If you look at languages now..you see many influences of one anotherLatin, Indo-European, Germanic..etcOne User Said:According to the Old Testament of the Holy Bible, humanity originally lived in the one place and all spoke the one language. They decided to build a tower high enough to reach the sky. God disapproved on the grounds that if they were successful in this project, then they could do anything they wanted. So he scattered the people and mixed up their languages so they would no longer understand each other. For reference, see Genesis Chapter 11, verses 1-9.One User Said:Isolation causes languages to evolve differently from each other. Isolation can be physical, political, or cultural. Most languages share common factors and can be traced back to language families. For example, modern languages like English, Dutch and German are part of the Germanic language family, and share a common ancestor called Proto-Germanic.Languages naturally evolve and the theory goes that at some point in time, as groups of people went their separate ways, their languages evolved and changed over time in different ways. Eventually, the languages of the various communities of people evolved differently enough that they became different languages.

How do laguages die?

Well, there are a couple ways. 1) A majority of the people who speak the language are massacered all at once, i.e. in war, in famine, or other natural causes. 2)If the language is compactly spoken in basically just one place, and that place is overruled by a person/country who speaks a different language, that ruler's language generally becomes law, and that smaller language gradually becomes spoken less and less. 3)People just choose to stop speaking it because a new, better language has come along. That's how languages die off.
