The Old Testament or covenant was the agreement between Abraham and his descendants, the Israelites. It the old testament there is a prophecy that determines a new covenant would be made with the nation of Israel. This occured with the advent of Jesus the son of God. Though rejected by most of the remainder of the Israelites that existed in Christ's day, yet some believed and was the receipents of the New Testament Christ gave them. Under the old testament the people live by the Law of Moses. Under the new testament given by Christ believers live by faith through grace, the unmerited favor of God. Jesus fulfilled the law to the last letter, freeing us from the written letter and for the believer, being written in the fleshly tables of the heart.

How do people who believe in the New Testament react to the Old Testament?

A:These days, very few people read the Bible carefully enough or in enough detail to notice the contrast between the loving God of the New Testament and the vengeful God of the Old Testament. They simply assume that the Old Testament God wanted to help his chosen people, even when he seemed to commit the same sins Jesus counsels against.Marcion saw the contrast and believed there must surely be two Gods. He set out to prove his doctrine of the two Gods by writing a book called the Antitheses (the 'contrary statements'). In it he showed that there were severe inconsistencies between the Old Testament and the teachings of Jesus and Paul.

Who are Sons of God?

This depends if you are referring to the Old Testament reference to 'sons of God' or the New Testament idea. The first, which relates to a reference in Genesis 6:2 is uncertain and a matter of discussion among Bible scholars with a number of theories being proposed. The latter relates to the fact that male believers are all 'sons of God in Christ Jesus'. They are thus all equal in God's sight although obviously different in their gifts, behaviour, circumstances etc
