Bernadette lived in a few places in Lourdes with her family, and also in Bartres, a village close to Lourdes. She also spent time living in Lourdes in different places to her family and she then left Lourdes to go to a town called Nevers, where she spent the rest of her life.
Both are places of pilgrimage. The Ganges is visited by Hindus and Lourdes by Christians.

St. Bernadette's body is not in Lourdes. It is in the town of Nevers in France, over 400 miles from Lourdes. This is because she went there to live in a convent and died there. Her body is actually on view in a glass case for anyone to see. See the link below:
No. A pilgrimage is for anyone. Pilgrims go to special places. Some places are associated with sick people, like Lourdes, but some pilgrimages can be to special places that don't have a particular association with the sick, like Rome or Bethlehem. Even for places like Lourdes, most of the people who go on pilgrimages there are not seriously ill.
No. France is in the west of Europe. Lourdes is in the very south France, close to the border with Spain. See the maps below.

Lourdes is located in South-Western France, close to the Spanish border. It is about halfway between the town of Toulouse and the Atlantic ocean, close to the town of Tarbes.
Pilgrims will be most interested in the activities on the pilgrimages, but there are things for ordinary tourists. Lourdes has a huge amount of hotels and other accommodation. It has lots of restaurants and shops and places of entertainment. There is a large fort that overlooks the town with a museum about the Pyrenees in it. The Pyrenees is the mountain range that Lourdes is at the bottom of. People can go skiing there. There is a golf course close to Lourdes and other sporting facilities that tourists may use. There are lots of tours run from Lourdes to different places around it. There are day trips to Spain available. There are lots of nice towns in the area and lovely scenery. So there are lots of things a tourist can do in Lourdes and in the surrounding area for people who are not interested in the religious aspects of Lourdes, and even for the people who are interested in the religious aspects. Some of them will also do some of those other things.
