separatists wanted to leave the Anglican churches to form their own churches.

John Wesley founded the Methodist Church in large part because Anglican authorities would not provide missionary priests to settlers in America. He and Asbury were both trained in Anglican Universities and founded the Methodist Church in America. (Though Methodist societies were formed first in England.)

What explains the beginnings of the protestants reformation?

In short, Martin Luther found theological issues with Catholic doctrine, tried to get the problems corrected, and brought the issues to attention by nailing a list of the problems he found on the church door (known as the "41 Theses"). The leaders of the church refused to change anything and threatened to excommunicate Luther if he didn't retract his statements. He refused, and was excommunicated from the Catholic church. He then founded his own church, known today as the Lutheran church. This started a trend of people making their own churches, like the King of England and the Anglican church.

When was the Lutheran church found?

The Lutheran Church shares a history with the historic churches organized by Jesus' first followers. In about 1000 a.d., that church split into two factions, the western Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox family of churches. The Lutheran Church comes from a later dispute within the western church in the 1500's. Most "Protestant" churches arose shortly after, using the new disunity as headway. The exception is the Anglican Reformation, which occurred semi-simultaneously to and separately from the Lutheran Reformation. Several "Protestant" churches also arose from the Anglican Reformation. The Lutheran Church claims roots with the followers of Jesus. This means it was likely founded around 25-30 AD and split off into two different churches in 1000 AD.
