In the Catholic Church, the word "rite" refers either to a particular ritual action that the Church undertakes, such as the "Rite of Baptism," or to the overall expression of Catholicism that is undertaken. In the first case, there are many rites that are celebrated within the Catholic Church. In the second case, there are several different expression found in unity with each other in the Catholic Church, each containing a certain amount of the total Catholic population. All of these Rites are in union with the Pope and share the same beliefs (not just on a superficial level, but completely), but there is a diversity in expressing the same Catholic truths and pratices. There is the Latin Rite (which everyone tends to refer to as Roman Catholic). Then there are Byzantine Catholics who may be of the Ukranian Rite, the Ruthenian Rite, the Maronite Rite, and so forth. These types of rites differ from each other with regard to their worship practices (the form of the Eucharistic celebration differs as to language, types of representations of God and holy men and women, and so forth), geography (the Ukrainian Rite, for instance, whereas Latin Rite Catholics are typically found just about anywhere on the globe), history, and some disciplinary practices (each Rite has its own verson of Church Law actually).

Can a Roman Catholic get an annulment from Orthodox Catholic or other Catholic rites?

It's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church. . A Catholic is bound by his Bishop. If he is a Latin Rite Catholic, then he would need to ask his pastor to apply to his Latin Rite bishop for an annulment. If he is another Rite, then he would need to apply to his Bishop in that Rite. There are more than a few Rites in the Catholic Church, the Latin Rite is just the largest. . An Orthodox Bishop has no standing in the Catholic Church whatsoever, other than valid Orders.

Should you capitalize 'Roman Catholic faith'?

Yes. It is normally capitalized. However, "Roman" is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the Catholic Church, except sometimes to refer to the Latin Rite, but never with "Catholic".

What are the similarities that Maronites have with the Roman Catholics?

Catholic AnswerRoman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the Catholic Church. .The Maronite Rite is a Catholic rite of the Catholic Church. Most people think of the Catholic Church as the Latin Rite as this is the largest. The Maronite Rite is one of the Eastern Rites from Lebanon. Their language is different, and their Mass or Liturgy is based on that of St. James. Of all the Eastern Rites, theirs is the most similar to the Latin Rite. But the question as asked "similarities between the Roman Catholic and Maronite" makes no sense as the Maronite Rite is part of the Catholic Church.
