It is interesting to note from about the Civil War up to the advent of Nuclear Power- there was at least a true- or even a (this is great use of God"s Natural Resources) applied to technology- if not pure science. it may be argued factually that most communications devices- Pre-TV- could be and were used for among other things, spreading the gospel- consider the Gutenberg Bible. as late as the Civil War the idea was that communications technology was OK and like Manifest Destiny ( What Hath God Wrought) and the inaccurate depiction of telegraphy in the ( battle Hymn) (By the dim and flaring lamps!) Radio was espoused by the Vatican, then, along came two bomb shells- Nuclear Bombs ( Bad science to be sure), and television, the old religion verus science battle rejoined!
