The second-century Church Fathers decided that the person called John, who wrote the Book of Revelation, must have been the apostle John. They then had to find an explanation for John being on the island of Patmos, preferably one involving great heroism or a miracle. A popular tradition about John is that Emperor Domitian ordered him brought as a prisoner to Rome and thrown into a vat of boiling oil. John was unharmed by the boiling oil, and he was eventually exiled under guard in Patmos.
Not only is the alleged episode of the boiling oil entirely implausible, the alleged exile proves it to be so. If John was immune to harm, as shown by his escape from the boiling oil, he could scarcely have been restrained by armed guards, who also would have been totally unable to harm him. So, not only was John never boiled in oil, The Bible does not even claim that he was.
Yes, the book of Isaiah was written before the Babylonian exile.
Myst has 4 sequels: Riven, Exile, Revelation and End of Ages.
The meaning of exile prophets means prophets who worked while in exile like daniel, post exile prophets are prophets just before a exile came like Jeremiah.

The book of Revelations is the last book of the new testament, it is written by the apostle John , when in exile on the island of Patmos.
Ovid
Ovid was the writer who was permanently banished from Rome by Augustus. This happened in 8 AD, and Ovid spent the rest of his life in exile in Tomis, a remote town on the Black Sea.
In an unlikely Christian tradition, the apostle John was sentenced to be boiled in oil, but survived without injury. He was then exiled to the island of Patmos, where he wrote the Book of Revelation, which was first attributed to him late in the second century. However, the existence of a tradition such as this does not mean it really happened. The story raises questions such as why boiling in oil was chosen, other than because it was possible to imagine John escaping unscathed, as could not be imagined in the case of beheading, spearing or crucifixion. Why was John apparently not tortured and permanently disabled before being placed in the oil? If the oil did not work, why was he then exiled rather than simply being speared or crucified? How did they manage to exile John? If he was immune to harm, the soldiers could not have forced him to accompany them to Patmos. The story of John being boiled in oil and exiled to Patmos is an extreme example of the literary technique of hagiology that began with Acts of the Apostles and developed over the early centuries of Christianity. Its primary purpose was the veneration of saints, with a secondary purpose of explaining how John came to write Revelation, as was by then supposed.
He was a husband and a shepherd.
He spent most of his exile period in the city of An-Najaf, Iraq. He also spent a year in Bursa, Turkey. However, just before he returned to Iran, he had been in Paris, France for four months.
There is no evidence that John was ever exiled to Patmos. The John who wrote Revelation (apparently not the apostle John) might have been on the island out of choice.Brian Mark Rapske (Christian Origins and Greco-Roman Culture, Exiles, Islands, and the Identity and Perspective of John in Revelation) says that there is no evidence that Patmos was a penal colony, although it certainly would have been suitable for use as a place of exile. There were were no mines on ancient Patmos, although a later tradition says that John was made to work in the mines.
To send someone into exile is to leave them abandoned, or ignore them or banish them from whatever they were part of before. For example, let's say you are part of a club. If you are to be sent into exile from that club, it means you are banished from taking part in that club and are no longer a member or part. It's basically saying you cannot be part of whatever you are being sent into exile from. To get a clearer definition, read the Warriors series, about cats in the wild forest. It gives a good definition of sending a cat into exile from a Clan, which resembles to other forms of sending into exile.
