Barry Goldwater was partially Jewish as his father was born Jewish. He was raised as an Episcopalian. However, Goldwater had close Jewish friends like Harry Rosenzweig. He also when he got a lot older married a Jewish woman. However, he was not Jewish in the sense that his mother was Jewish. His grandfather was Michel Goldwater who was born in Russian Poland. There were not so many Jews in Arizona. His father became an Episcopalian. Barry Goldwater is a republican legend, but he was not interested in right wing social issues. That was not his type of republican thinking.
