There are several but first we need to fully understand what the Second Command or Commandment of God actually tells us not to do.
This Second Commandment explicitly forbids the use of any type of inanimate or lifeless imagery - "any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath," in the worship of the living God. This includes jewelry, statues, paintings, etc.
So mankind is not to make or imitate any lifeless item/trinket and worship it in place of God. But most forget that God Himself, made male and female humans in the image and likeness of Himself - we look like the God Family (Genesis 1:27).
Above all the creatures in the vast Creation, God made us like Him calling us mankind and blessing us (Genesis 5:1-2). Wow, what an honor and most don't even know or think of that great statement about we humans.
God is real. He is living. For any of us to make something to take the physical place of God is to distort and lower our perceptions of our great Creator. Each and every human we see is the visible image of God - regardless of race/sex.
But we humans have lost this knowledge of our great honor and gift. We prefer to do it on our own just like Adam and Eve did in the Garden - nothing has really changed for most. Yet the Scripture tells true Christian disciples to:
Colossians 3:9-10New King James Version (NKJV)9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
For each human there is hope of us returning to God and becoming His children
1 Corinthians 15:50-53New King James Version (NKJV) Our Final Victory50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed- 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last Trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.God's great plan for all mankind is for us to become His sons and daughters - not just in His physical image, but spiritual as well:
1 John 3:2New King James Version (NKJV)2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
This is the message of the Second Commandment of God.
The word "commandment" is in the King James Version of the Bible 177 times. It is in 167 verses.
Jesus states the greatest commandment in the Bible in the book of Matthew, chapter 22, verses 37-39.
Specifically the term "remember" is used in Deuteronomy 5:12-15, but the commandment is also to "observe" and that is relayed in Exodus 20:8-11.
None. Second John is the shortest book in the Bible with 13 verses. Third John has 14 verses and Jude has 25.
