In Hinduism and Buddhism the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.
(These are the Five Precepts, not the basic Buddhist beliefs)

1. Do not kill, be kind to all creatures.

2. Do not steal, it's better to give than take.

3. Do not lie, be honest and open.

4. Do not misuse sex.

5. Do not intoxicate your body, no alcohol or drugs.

  • believe in dharma.
  • follow the eightfold path.
  • follow buddhas teachings.

The basic beliefs of Buddhism are the Four Noble Truths:

  • Life is Dukkha (suffering)
  • Suffering is caused by attachment
  • This suffering can be ended
  • The Eight Fold Path will lead to the end of suffering
