There are many differences between Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity. Sometimes there is no exact difference shown or known because that belief simply is not held in that religion and so cannot be compared. Some of them are compared below, while others will be found in the Answers to similar Questions.

The difference between between these three religions: Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Hinduism is in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity. This single event marks Christianity different from these other religions.

Buddhism: More a philosophy or 'way of life', which leads to a moral life, be mindful and aware of thoughts and actions, and to develop wisdom and understanding. Siddartha Gotama became enlightened and founded Buddhism. Material things are not important and detachment to these things is key to finding enlightenment. There is no God in Buddhism or Holy Book, but many pay respects to images to Buddha. And since Buddhists believe in no God they rely heavily on Science. The main teachings of Buddhism are the Four Noble Truths followed by the Eightfold Path. The main difference between Buddhism and other religions is that Buddha asked all his followers not to take his word as true, but rather to test the teachings for themselves.

Hinduism: World's larges extant religion (3rd largest religion). The basics are dharma (ethics & duties), Samsara (rebirth), Karma (right action), and Moksha (liberation from the cycle of Samsara). (Many of these are similar to Buddhism.) Like Buddhism it's a way of life. Hinduism is solely responsible for such things as Yoga, Ayurveda, Vastu, Karma, etc. It's origins of unknown, as well as it's founder. The scriptures are referred to as 'Shastras' (collection of spiritual laws by different saints and sages in history). Popular scripts include Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, and the Epics of Ramayana & Mahabharata. Hindus believe in only one supreme Absolute called Brahman, as well there are thousands upon thousands of gods and goddess all representing different facets of Brahman.

Judaism: Believe that there is only one invisible, all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present God, who is fair and just and the creator of mankind and the universe. The Torah (given to Moses on Mount Sinai) shows God's character and will. One must establish a personal relationship with God and bring him into all aspects of your life. Often, to be considered a Jew, you must have a Jewish mother, but father's are considered too. What Judaism is 'most famous' for is the rejection of Christ as the Messiah; they are still waiting for their Messiah.

These four religions can first be separated by the number of deities revered by the religion - Judaism and Taoism both profess a single, indivisible deity while both Buddhism and Hinduism have multiple deities.

Judaism is the faith of the Jewish people, a tribe of individuals who originally resided on the eastern shore of the Meditterranean Sea in a country called Israel. Their holy book is called the Torah and contains both a history of the people as well as the religious proscriptions upon actions to ensure the individuals and the people remain true to G-d's Word.

In contrast, Taoism originated in eastern Asia and is based upon the writings of Lao Tse as found in the Tao te Ching (there are multiple phoenetic variations of both the name and the book, as neither were originally written in the characters of the Phoenician alphabet). Where Judaism has strict ritual observances designed to keep a person of the faith on the correct path, Taoism focuses more on general guidances and careful meditative reflection upon the individual situation to keep a person within the spiritual guidelines.

Swapping to the other two religions, Hinduism is based upon a collection of very ancient writings including the Vedas and the Ramayana. There are many deities, each of which may or may not be actively worshipped depending upon the sect and the family. Hinduism focuses on a balance between the physical and the mental as well as a deep belief in spiritual justice that is described by both the concept of karma ("what goes around comes around") and reincarnation. There is no identified single founder of Hinduism.

In contrast, Buddhism was founded by Sidhartha Gautma (spelling varies depending upon the author - the original was not in Phoenician characters). Buddhism focuses on a detachment from all things physical, treating the material world as an illusion filled with temptations that lead to suffering. The holy writings are called the Tipitaka, but these are viewed as falliable guidelines rather than divinely-inspired texts.
