What are the different kinds of hadith?

They are two types.

1. Hadith Naboui is prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) own sayings.
2. Hadith Qodsi is sayings of God (not part of Quran) conveyed to prophet Muhammad to inform his people with.

depending of the level of authenticity of hadith they are categorized with different names. for example if the narrator is not known as a trusted man it is considered weak.

Islam religion has four main 'hadith', viz.: hadith Marfu', hadith Mawquf, hadith Mursal and hadith Qudsi. Among the four 'hadiths', hadith Qudsi is generally considered holy, second to the Qur'an.
