What are the reasons why some people trust the Bible?

A:To be a Christian, you would need to believe the Bible. Perhaps not literally in every respect, but you would at least have to accept the fundamentals of the Bible's story. Jews would believe the Old Testament but regard the New Testament as of no theological value for them. A Muslim could believe that the Bible is largely true, but that some of it has been altered to suit Judaism or Christianity.

There is no good reason for others to believe the Bible. It has been shown to contain historical and scientific errors, and has many internal contradictions. Historians now regard it as a secondary source - one that can help substantiate other sources if they agree, but is not sufficiently reliable to be considered a primary source for history.
