- Matthew 1:1-17 contradicts the Old Testament by leaving Jehoash, Amaziah and Uzziah out of the king list, in order to achieve a perfect numerology - fourteen generations from David to the Babylonian Exile.
- Luke contradicts the Old Testament by saying that the father of Salathiel and paternal grandfather of Zorobabel was called Neri, instead of Jehoahaz. It also adds Kainan and Admin to the ancestry before David, once again to achieve perfect numerology.
