Original Sin: Mary was Immaculately Conceived, thus from the first moment of her conception she was never tainted by Original Sin. Although it is not an article of faith, most Catholics believe that Mary never died, as death is the punishment for original sin, that every other human being must suffer. The Orthodox Church refers to the end of her life as "The Dormition" or "falling asleep". Whether she actually died or not is not known, what is known is that she is the only person in heaven, saving our Blessed Lord, with her body, as her body never suffered corruption. Although the Old Testament records two prophets I believe who were taken up to heaven at the end of their lives, so they may be in heaven with their bodies as well. The rest of us will have to wait until the End of the World to receive our bodies back!
