I would rephrase the question it is not Russian Orthodoxy, the more correct term would be Eastern Orthodoxy. Eastern Orthodxy is a direct representative of the church that was established by Jesus Christ himself. The actual name of the Orthodox Church is One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. Catholic meaning Universal and Apostolic meaning directly passed from the Apostoles. Before the Whole Christian world used to be Orthodox their great division came in 1054 when Rome has split from the rest of the church. This is where we begin to look at the Roman Catholic Church as an independent body that is not part of One Holy Catholic and Apostolic church. To answer the question about what are the differences between Christianiy and Islam? There are too many differences the list could go on forever. I think it is more important to see what are the similarities. Islam teaches very similar things as Christianity does. Muslims and Christians believe in ONE GOD but Muslims just do it in a different way. Christians see Jesus Christ as a man and God both natures in one. Muslims do not believe in God the man, just the Father Almighty. So in my opinion it is better to come together on one issue than to talk about the multiple differences that cause hatred and evil, which once again is not a part of Christianity or Islam.

Is Russian othodox part of the catholic religon?

Russian Orthodoxy is not part of the Catholic religion. I don't know the exact time or history, but Catholicism came about once it broke away from Orthodoxy. Hence, Catholicism is the first religion to break away from Orthodoxy. Historically, Orthodoxy is the first established Christian religion, Catholics upon breaking away, became the 2nd Christian religion.
