NO! Whoever wrote that muslim imams wear shalwar, qamees and a cap are completely wrong, and clearly pakistani! ;/

There is no general dress code for what an imam can wear because muslims live all over the world and according to there culture they can wear whatever they like aslong as they cover all the body parts which all muslims have been told to cover.

Per religion, no specific requirement for Muslim Imam dress. Accordingly, the Imam dress may vary from one country to another according to the relevant country practices and traditions.The only requirement per religion is that the Imam dress, like all other Muslim men, should cover the body as minimum from the naval to the below the knees.
