What does the Bible say about Buddhism?

The Bible makes no mention of Buddha.

However there are many references to the acceptable path of righteousness that would lead to favor with God that would discourage the current view of Buddha. What may have began as a record of a man's journey and self-discovery, Buddhism has transformed into a religion that does go against some of the principles described in the Bible.

Here are a few simple (yet comprehensive scriptures) that could apply:

Exodus 20:2, 3 (The first of the ten commandments)

2 "I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3 You must not have any other gods besides me

John 14:6 Jesus said to him: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Matthew 6:7 When praying, do not say the same things over and over again as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words.

Buddhism does not have a bilbe in the sense of a book of rules and do's and dont's that people follow. The several texts available are in part records of the Buddha's sermons and lessons and learned discussions on Buddhism. These are not even required as is pointed out by Dr. D.T. Suzuki a learned teacher of Zen Buddhism.

For all that the Christians view the Bible as containing all knowledge it is pretty empty of facts on the world beyond the Middle East. No mention of Buddha or Buddhism. New York City, iPhones or almost anything past the early years of the Common Era.. Biblical apologists would warp sections about witchcraft, false gods and false prophets to cover the lack of information.
