No mention in the holy book Quran about which fruit did Adam and Eve ate. It is mentioned only that they ate from a tree.
shia: some name mentioned in Ahadith like: Anbah (mango), Annab (jujube), Kafur (eucalyptus), hasad (jealous) and most famous one Apple and wheat. but according to some Ahadith, what Adam prohibited from was knowledge of Prophet Muhammad and his household. everything had been said is just symbolic while knowledge is food for soul. Adam tried to enter the realm of kingdom of Prophet Muhammad and his Household without permission, so he taste few but lost a lot. if not it is meaningless that Allah gives everything to him freely and prohibit one without any reason.
