Different people, different religions and cultures call breaking out of the cycle of reincarnation by different names. The ancient Hindus called it Mukti and Moksha, then the Hindu prince Siddhartha Gautama went in quest and he modified the belief and called it Nirvana, in the Buddhist manner. In the western world, people call it Enlightenment, which leads to Salvation. It doesn't matter what we call it, but we must understand what it is. Breaking out of the cycle of reincarnation is realizing that the body dies, everybody will die, but the one who was alive, the ME, the Mind and the Ego is reborn based on its actions or Karma. The cycle goes on and on till we realize we are not even the ME, the Mind and the Ego, we are the Divine Soul. Then we have no Karma and we are liberated and united with the Divine - this ends the cycle.
