There is no such term officially in the Catholic Church, I would suppose that a secular Catholic was the same thing meant by a Cafeteria Catholic. In other words, someone who is Catholic in name only, but is not actively seeking to lead a spiritual, holy life. These people are in more trouble than those who do not know Christ, as He specifically said:
Apocalypse (Revelation) 3:15-17:
'I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot! So because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing; not knowing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.'
You would be better asking what secular movement did not criticize the Catholic Church, the list would be a lot shorter.
It wasn't and never did become secular.
The Catholic Church a religious institution, as such it is the opposite of a secular institution. It's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church.
Catholic yet Secular.
The University of Southern California is secular.
dont know
No, a diocese is not secular. It is a geographical grouping of parishes under the jurisdiction of a bishop in the Catholic Church.
That really depends on the country, but quite often, the constitution of a country is secular even if the country has (for example) a Catholic majority.
he's catholic, but still secular in some respects.
No they can't :)
Sacred is religious mucic that are related to the catholic church on the contrary Secular music is non-religious music. "Secular" means being separate from religion.
Well back in that era people were Catholic or Chirstian. Not many were Secular (secular: of no or little faith). So if this is for a test, exam of assingment I would say 'People in that era were Catholic, Christian of Secular' but I wouldn't assume, as you will porbably get it wrong as it doensn't in the book what religion the boys were.Ciao :)
