Bismi-llahir-Rahmanir- Raheem
Surah 2:63-2:66
And remember we took your covenant and we raised above you ( the towering height) of Mount Sinai saying: " Hold firmly to what We have given you and bring ever to remembrance what is therein: Perchance ye may fear thereafter: had it not been for the grace and mercy of Allah to you, you would had surely been amongst the lost.
And well ye knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath: We said to them " Be ye apes despised and rejected".
Although many events took place on Mount Sinai in Egypt, Mount Sinai (in this Sura) is a reminder of the agreement between Allah and the the people of Israel, for the Quran said " remember we took your covenant and we raised it above you ( the towering height) of Mount Sinai.
But because many of the people transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (which is know as the laws of Allah) they were turned them into Apes as a example for those who fear Allah.
If anyone finds this incorrect please be free to let me know more, I am open to learn more knowledge about my Deen.
