Jewish answer:

There is a Christian Evangelical Cult whose members call themselves Messianic 'Jews'. They claim to be 'Jewish' and they state that 'real Jews worship Jesus'.

But the Messianic Cult has no link to Judaism. It is a purely Christian movement. There is no 'messianic' sect IN Judaism. And no Jews worship either Jesus OR any other human - it's forbidden in Judaism to worship anyone but God.

It's important to be aware of this Messianic Cult, because they are managing to convince a lot of people that they represent Judaism - but they DO NOT.

Christian answer:

The word messianic comes from the word Messiah, which means "anointed one." In the Bible there are several persons who were anointed for a specific purpose, who could have been referred to as Messiah, such as King David, Solomon, and others who were anointed by God. But most often when using the word Messiah, we are referring to Jesus Christ.

Messianic would be a designation of something pertaining to a messiah. Such as messianic throne, messianic reign, etc.

The word messianic will almost always be used in context with something pertaining to the reign of Jesus Christ. Such as the use of the term messianic rule or messianic throne, when referring to the reign of Jesus Christ on his heavenly throne.

Fact: Jesus was a Jew, 2010 years ago, a messiah was sent by God {who was Jewish}. He sacrified his life for the Jews and all of those who believed in him.

Jesus, or Christianity, was born from the Jewish people through fate, destiny or by a higher power.God is and always be that higher power. So it is easy to be both. They are one in the same. God blessed us because many Christians are pro Israel and descend from Jews.

Correction:

The word messiah is the Anglicised form of the Hebrew 'moshiach. The word moshiach means 'anointed', NOT 'anointed one'. Moshiach is a title given to any person who is anointed with oil as part of their initiation into serving HaShem (The Creator). There is absolutely nothing supernatural about a moshiach.

The term 'messianic' was adopted by various Christian groups in their attempts to convert Jews to Christianity. The theory being that it would be easier to convert Jews if they believed they could be Jewish and Christian at the same time. Of course, the is a complete lie.
