the minora is not what we light on hanuckah which is what most people think it is. the hanuckiah is what we light on hanuckah. the minorah was in the holy temple of the Jews and was the everlasting light. it was to represent that the light or spirit of god never dies. it is the symbol/emblem of Israel today and is on the coin. it is what the maccanbies found oil for on the first hanuckah. the oil was only wnough for 1 night but it lasted for 8. it has 7 places to put oil in 6 main ones and then the shamash which is the oil holder used to light the rest.
