The Old Testament is Judaism & describes the practices needed to honor Creator G_d, whom G_d is, and the lessons G_d has.

In Christianity it is also believed the Old Testament is the Word of G_d and teaches us G_d's nature, lessons, and plans.

Islam believes the previous Old and New Testament were corrupted through time, and Qur'an in now the only correct, trustworthy Word of G_d. So the Old Testament probably holds the least value in Islam.

The value of these religions, their philosophies, and religious material of course cannot be answered on a website like this.

(It is also worth mentioning all these books speak about what will happen in future tense. Followers of Judaism are waiting for the Messiah to come from Old Testament prophesies. Christians believe the Messiah has already come and is going to come a second, final time from New Testament prophesies. Etc.)

I don't know if this is true for Islam also but I know that the Old Testament scriptures are all written in the Torah ( the holy book of Judaism ) and the first part of the Bible ( the holy book of Christianity ). Also, some of the scriptures helps archaeologists discover different types of things. For example, they discovered that Eve was actually Adam's second wife ( but that is more of a Jewish belief).
