blasphemy in the spirit

Answer:

Stated simply -- it's "quitting on God." Giving up on God's Holy Spirit in you, once it's given... and dwelling within you.

It's returning to the world, instead of struggling to "overcome" it through Him as He commands of His servants.

"...the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men." (Matt.12:31)

"For it is not possible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the Heavenly Gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the Good Word of God, and the Powers of the world to come, IF THEY SHALL FALL AWAY, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame." (Heb.6:4-6)

The Holy Spirit given to an individual, living and dwelling within him, is the Life-giving Seed of the Fatherin heaven... the "Divine Nature" of a growing, living Child of God -- the spiritual equivalent of the conception of the seed of a mortal father.

It's the Life-giving Power of God that "conceives" the growing, developing Child of God within... and it's the Source of the Nourishment of God's Truth - the Word of God; the Bread of Life: Jesus Christ -- that feeds his heart and mind with God's Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding -- His Truth [John 17:17].

To "give up" on that Most Precious Life Source given by God... is to, quite frankly, COMMIT SPIRITUAL SUICIDE. It's "aborting one's own pregnancy."

It's knowing the inward Truth of God... and giving up on the priceless spiritual struggle of our second birth into the Family of God He is creating through mankind, created in His image. It's deliberately "thumbing your nose" in God's face.

It's the ultimate, unforgiveable blasphemy against the Mercy and Grace of God thrown back in His face after He's given it.
