Job was a wealthy man:
"...He owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred teams of oxen, and five hundred female donkeys, and he EMPLOYED MANY SERVANTS. He was, in fact, THE RICHEST PERSON IN THAT ENTIRE AREA." (Job 1:3 NLT New Living Translation)
Job didn't have a job... he had many jobs that needed done throughout his "empire." It was, no doubt, a "family business" which his children ran and from which they also benefited... besides the "many servants" they hired on.
Job may well have been the major contributor to the "local economy" of the region.
