In the temple in Jerusalem was a veil that separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. The Ark was in the Most Holy Place and this area was considered the place where God was available to man. The High Priest was the only person who could enter the Most Holy Place and that was just once a year on the Day of Atonement. Remember now, this Temple was mainly for the Jews and was used for animal sacrifices to God.

When Jesus the Christ (Messiah) died on the cross at Calvary He ushered in a new economy or dispensation, which is know today as the "age of grace". The New Covenant was established this day and the old Covenant that God and Moses made with The Hebrew people ended.

When the Old covenant was in effect it was the High Priest and priest's that communicated with God for the people.

When the veil split into two pieces from the top to the bottom it signified that now instead of the priest's as the go between for God and Man, man can now go directly to God and speak for himself.

But there is a catch to this. In order for man to talk to God he must be a follower of Jesus Christ. Jesus' death made talking to God possible and so you have to be a true disciple of Jesus to talk to God. God will not speak to or acknowledge an unbeliever.

There is one exception and that is when an unbeliever has accepted Jesus as their Savior and are asking God to forgive their sins. God's ears are wide open for that type of prayer.

The veil in the temple torn into half denoting?

The Temple Veil was torn in two, from top to bottom, denoting that God had accepted Jesus death on the cross as an acceptable sacrifice for the remission of sin (hence, the Passover Lamb). Jesus, acting as our spiritual High Priest, made an acceptable attonement on Passover. Therefore, there was no longer a need to have a veil separating God from man.

What significance does the veil torn in two verse hold in the context of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ?

The tearing of the veil in the temple at the moment of Jesus' crucifixion symbolizes the removal of barriers between God and humanity, signifying access to God's presence for all people. It represents the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies and the establishment of a new covenant through Jesus' sacrifice.

What is the torn signifies when Jesus is died?

Unfortunately, this question was kind of stated incompletely, but if I understand it correctly, "What does the veil being torn signify when Jesus died?" The Templ: In the temple or tabernacle (depending on where you are) you have the regular sanctuary and the holy of holies. Nobody is allowed into the holy of holies because that is coming into God's presence. But why are we not alowed into the holy of holies? Because we are sinful. We are so sinful and God is so perfect that He can't have us in his presence. To give you a picture, your mom would never under most any circumstances allow you into the house with muddy shoes unless you took them off. But what if you personally couldn't take them off? You'd never come in the house! The only way to fix this little problem was to place a veil there. Why Did Jesus Die: Jesus died so that we might live. How does that make sense? I think that we all can agree that we are sinners. No doubt about it. God has a penalty for sin and that is eternal seperation from God. But God isn't only just, He is also merciful. God wanted us to come home to Him, so He had His one and only Son die for us so that we might spend eternity with Him. If our sins are taken care of, we then can have a close and intimate relationship with God. The Veil: So, if the veil was there to keep us from God because of our sins (figuratively, of course), then why was the veil torn when Jesus died. "IT IS FINNISHED!" IT IS DONE! FINNITE! No more sepperation! The death penalty has been taken care of and now we can be with God.

What is the meaning and symbolism of heaven being torn open after Jesus was baptised and after he died the temple viel was torn?

I am not really sure what symbolism is involved with heaven being torn open at the baptism of Jesus. As far as the temple veil being torn in two, it goes like this: Up to the point that Jesus was crucified, the Jews had to perform daily sacrifices for sin offerings. When Jesus died and spilled His blood, brought it to the Mercy Seat in Heaven, it forever did away with the need for sacrifices in the temple. Also, it opened the courts of heaven to anyone who believed in Christ and accepted the sacrifice He made for their sins. Now God's presence was open to all who believed, whereas before, only the High Priests could access God's presence, and then only once a year. The veil represented the barrier sin brought between man and God. Jesus's death on the cross broke down that barrier.

Bodies are the temple of the holy spirit what does this mean?

Prior to the death of Jesus the "spirit", or tangible manifestation of God, would reside on the ark of the covenant or in the holy of holies. With the death of Jesus the veil was torn and God's spirit could live within his people.

What furnishing in the sanctuary tore from top to bottom when Jesus died?

A:The gospels say that at the very moment Jesus died, the veil, or curtain, at the entrance to the Holy of Holies was rent from top to bottom ("And the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom." - Mark 15:38). There has to be some doubt about this account, as Josephus, who would have been familiar with the Temple veil before the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE, describes the curtain and its images and colours in considerable detail (Wars of the Jews, Book 5), but makes no mention of any damage to it, or any repairs.

Where did Saint Veronica die?

Saint Veronica was said to be alive at the time of Jesus. She supposedly offered Jesus her veil as he was carrying the cross. It is unknown where Saint Veronica died, but she left the veil to Pope Saint Clement upon her death, so it might be preserved within the church.

What do Jews think about the veil of the temple being torn when Jesus died?

A:Many Christians believe that at the very moment Jesus died, the veil, or curtain, at the entrance to the Holy of Holies was rent from top to bottom (Mark 15:38). Some who read the Bible carefully are aware that the followers of Jesus could not have seen the curtain in order to know this, and anyone who could see the curtains would have been unaware of Jesus' death far off, outside the city walls. Christians who study theology may be aware that the Jewish historian, Josephus, who would have been familiar with the Temple veil before the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE, describes the curtain and its images and colours in considerable detail (Wars of the Jews, Book 5), but makes no mention of any damage to it, or any repairs.

Did Jews repair the temple veil after Jesus death?

The Jews seem to have been unaware that the Temple veil was torn at the time of Jesus' death. They made no record of this happening, nor of it being repaired, yet such a momentous event would surely have been mentioned somewhere, if only in correspondence. When Josephus, formerly a priest in the Jerusalem Temple, described the veil, he makes no mention of any visible damage or repair. Some scholars even doubt whether any of Jesus' followers would have been able to see the curtain.
