If you consider the contribution the Choctaw made to help win WWI to be significant, then I would point to that. In World War 1, in order to confound German intelligence from deciphering communication a code was developed by using the Choctaw language to communicate plans and strategic information, the German were never able to make heads nor tails from it.

Yes the Choctaw were the original "Code Talkers" the same strategy was employed in WW2 but with a different Native American language.
