A recent movie, 17 Miracles, chronicles some of the many miracles as recorded in the journals of members of the Willie and Martin Handcart Companies and their journey to Salt Lake City in the Fall of 1856. Miracles included: faith healings, angelic visitations, deliverances, and perilous escapes amidst tragic and faith challlenging circumstances.
"In the Company of Angels" is a book specifically about the Willie Handcart Company. Written by David Farland, it brings the experience home, letting the reader feel the emotions of the pioneers who took part in the journey.
