Most of the prophets were rejected, and were not liked by the people.

Answer

I take it that you are referring to the prophets of the old and new testements? If this is so then they were fated to preach the gospel to all who would listen. However their altimate fate was to give their lives for what they believed in. John the Beloved was the only one spared, he was to spend the rest of his life on the isle of Patmos. It was while there that He was inspired to write the Book of Revelation.

How do Muslims view Jewish and Christian prophets?

Islam has more or less re-apportioned Jewish and Christian prophets as Islamic prophets and argues that all of these prophets are part of a larger Islamic prophetic tradition. As a result, most of these prophets are highly regarded, but their message in the Qur'anic narrative may be different from that in the Biblical narrative.
