When Jesus died for us what did that do for mankind?

Jesus died to help save us from sin. In The Bible Jesus is often referred to as the "lamb" this is because Jesus came as the reality of the PASSOVER LAMB. This is because Jews used to take the Passover by eating unleavened bread and by slaughtering a lamb. Jesus died and became the reality of the lamb. So when Christians take the passover in the proper way, they don't need to slaughter a lamb. The passover is a Christan/Jewish feast day in which unleavened bread and wine is taken. By taking the passover in the proper way at the appointed time ( 14th day of the 1st month - in accordance to the sacred calender) we can get the forgiveness of sins (which leads us closer to heaven) and the promise that DISASTER will PASS- OVER us.

Jesus has done a thing no other has done before.

Ofcourse this depends on what religion you are in, however, I as a christian will answer your question how a christian would answer one.

So when Adam and Eve ate the fruit which was not supposed to be eaten in the garden of Eden, God couldn't do anything about it. He had told them not to, but they had disobeyed. Adam and Eve now had to live their whole lives with sin. Whether or not your are a Christian doesn't matter; sins are there in our lives everyday. Some people say children don't or can't sin, but this is a lie. When a child is fairly grown up, they know how to lie, use violence, get angry etc. with out getting taught any of it. '

Anyways, we all are sinners (and no one what so ever except God can deny this) as we all have Adam and Eve's blood in us. But what is so terrible is that all sinners MUST go to hell. No chance at all of going to heaven. God couldn't do anything about it, as it was a MUST happen once adam and Eve ate the apple.

But God couldn't watch all these hundreds and thousands of people go to hell every second! He just isn't that kind od merciless God! He just couldn't bear it, because he was a God of love. However is also the God of justice, meaning, he couldn't just igonre sin=death (hell) and save everyone. No.

So what did he do?

He sents HIS ONE AND ONLY SON Jesus Christ to US. Why? Because think about it. If you're in a jail, the person you share the room with in the cell can't say "I'll make sure I'll get you out of here." because, well, he's in the jail too!

So us sinners, can't be saved BY sinners. t had to be someone PURE, with no sin.

So Jesus decided to sacrifice HIS life on that cross, bearing all that humiliation and pain. One thing important, Jesus didn't just pretend to die, or didn't feel pain, because when he came to earth, he was 100% human AND 100% God. SO he felt the pain, the embarassment, everything, AND he had to go to hell for 3 days. For who?

For US. Filthy, dirty, ugly, disgusting, selfish, sinners, who mostly don't even know who Jesus is. Jesus had the decision to turn back and go back to heaven anytime he wanted. However, he chose to die there, in that cross. Why? With the hope that there was SOMEONE who could be saved by his sacrifice.

The blood he had bled had forgiven everyone's sins.

Our past, present, future sins are all forgiven.

So if ANYONE, anyone at all will truely believe in Jesus's sacrifice, the gospel that he had died for them and has rosen in 3 days and has returned to heaven, that person IS saved.
