How does sin destroy you?
God created mankind for Himself. Mankind was to love God and enjoy Him for ever. But man sinned in the Garden of Eden and every person born from that day forth has been born spiritually dead and are in a sinful state. And this sin separated them from God. This separation from God caused more and more sin. Mankind through out the centuries have died in their sin and according to the Bible will spend an eternity in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:11-15). This is how sin will destroy you. But God looked down from heaven and had pity on man and in His mercy and love sent His Son, Jesus Christ to earth to die the perfect sinless sacrifice for man's sin (John 3:16). But this sacrifice on the cross by Jesus Christ is not automatically applied to you. You have to have a personal Savior, which is Jesus Christ. You have to come to Jesus and accept Him as your Savior. Jesus Christ is the only way to God the father (John 14:6). If you do not accept Jesus, sin has destroyed you.

He came because God loved the world so much, He didn't want to see us all be separated from Him forever because of our sin. So, because the consequence of sin is that someone or something has to die and spill out their blood, Jesus agreed to do it - die, that is. Because He died and because He's God, His death is good enough for all the sin of all mankind, in any time, for ever. Jesus' death for our sin is God's gift to all mankind, and it's why He came. We as Christians will never be judged for our sin as Jesus took care of them when he was sacrificed for them. The agony of Crucifixion was a terrible death, but can you imagine the extra agony that Jesus had, being a sinless person taking all the sin of mankind upon Himself. Only Jesus could have done this.

Why can't we all thank Jesus Christ for dying for our sin?
There are few who believe that Christ was able to die for our sins. There are also more than a few who do not believe if the power of prayer. There are more than that who do not believe in Christ. There are untold numbers who do not believe at all. Would that all mankind would bend the knee in supplication to our Lord in humble thanks.

Jesus Christ went to the cross of Calvary dying there and taking all of mankind's sin with Him, thereby paying the price for our sin that if we accept Him as Savior we will inherit eternal life in heaven with Him. He also was resurrected by the Father proving that the Father accepted Jesus' sacrifice as worthy to save mankind. He was the perfect sacrifice for our sin as He was sinless as a Man and as God (God can not sin). Salvation does not come automatically. You have to accept Jesus as your personal Savior. John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me."

His death did not offer hope - but His resurrection did!!Christ's resurrection showed that He was God! He had power over sin and Death! And that He had paid the price in full for all mankind's transgressions. Transgression is a fancy word for sin. Christ's being raised from the dead offered hope.
