Fasting is considered a personal choice for Jehovah's Witnesses. There have been articles that bring out possible health and spiritual benefits of fasting in their publications. However, it would not be something that you should publicly declare but instead a private matter.

I was a Jehovah's Witness for 25 years and never once was I encouraged to fast and as a Jehovah's Witness I dutifully read EVERY one of the publication as is required. It may be a personal choice but as much as they say they follow the lifestyle of early Christians, the early Christians prayed and fasted. Jesus encourages it and the apostles encouraged it including Paul. But they pick and choose what they want to follow in The Bible. You know following anything in the Bible is a 'Personal Choice' but to be acceptable to God we must follow it completely.
