When will the world end according to the holy quran?

For sure there is an end for this world,actually evry start should have and end.in Islam also like so many other religions there is an end for this world and only Allah (God) knows when.no creature ever knew or will know when,but there are minor signs and then greater ones that should preceed this major event,u may read about these signs is some Islamic sites in English to know about.

The world will end when Allah Subhanahu Wata'al wills. No body knows exactly when. In Islam neither the Quran nor the Sunnah "prophet Mohammed's way of life and sayings" never fixed a time and left it for the will of Allah "god the almigty".

The holy Quran said:

يسألونك عن الساعة أيان مرساها ۖ قل إنما علمها عند ربي ۖ لا يجليها لوقتها إلا هو ۚ ثقلت في السماوات والأرض ۚ لا تأتيكم إلا بغتة ۗ يسألونك كأنك حفي عنها ۖ قل إنما علمها عند اللـه ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمون ﴿١٨٧﴾سورة الأعراف.

They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly." They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know." (187) Surat Al-A'ra'f

And prophet's Sunnah mentioend many signs (small and Great) signs which will come in existance before the hour comes. The following are some of the followihg prophet's Hadiths (sayings) which mention some of these signs:

- From Bukhari]] 6.458: Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: I saw Allah's Apostle pointing with his index and middle fingers, saying. "The time of my Advent and the Hour are like these two fingers." The Great Catastrophe will overwhelm everything. [[

- @ From Bukhari]] 2.146: Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until (religious) knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious learned men), earthquakes will be very frequent, time will pass quickly, afflictions will appear, murders will increase and money will overflow amongst you." (See Hadith No. 85 Vol 1).

I heard Allah's Apostle saying: From among the portents of the Hour are (the following): -1. Religious knowledge will decrease (by the death of religious learned men). -2. Religious ignorance will prevail. -3. There will be prevalence of open illegal sexual intercourse. -4. Women will increase in number and men will decrease in number so much so that fifty women will be looked after by one man.

and thousand of Hadiths more. From this we know that no one can tell the date or time or even the century, because this is part of un-known which is only known to Allah.

What we should do is believe in Allah and his prophets and the last prophet Mohammed, do good to enter heavn not hell. If we do that, it does not matter to us even if the hour comes today. On the other hand, man should know that the hour comes to him the minute he dies and there will be no regret or repentance to do. Better to get ready and find the true religion, true message and true path to Allah.

It is not stated when will everything come to an end exactly in the Quran because that is one thing Allah knows alone.But it is really near.
