This is a very tricky question. Because it can be answered in several different ways. A church can either be a phyisical structure or it can be a belief. The Holy Bible uses the term in both contexts. In the Old Testament it talks about a physical structure that was built and torn down, which would be the first building with the sign outside that read Christian Church. In the New Testament it addresses a church based on belief and teaching. In this case it would, most likely, be accepted as with Jesus Christ. Although there were people preaching the same message Jesus taught before Jesus arrived. These people, like John the Baptist, were outcasts and not accepted in the organized religion of the time. So technically Jesus didn't originate Christianity, but he is credited with it. The last possibility is when some person, who probably hated those that followed the teachings of the Messiah Christ, relabled them to Christian. This was after the Messiah was murdered and occurred in Antioch.
