Paganism is a very large umbrella with many sub-groups beneath it.
Depending on the path the pagans in question are following they may pray to any number of gods and goddesses, the choice depends on the individual and in some cases the reason for the prayer. Most, but not all, pagans are polytheistic, meaning they have multiple deities, and they can worship deities from almost any of dozens of pantheons (Ancient Greek, Norse, Hindu, Shinto, etc). Although some simply combine all their deities into a few based simply on gender (ie: The Lord and Lady, or the God, Goddess and Powers That Be.) Some are also pantheistic (believing there is an "element" of the divine in all things) or animistic (believing all living things, and sometimes non-living things, have spirits, and they worship these spirits.) Some also practice self-worship, focusing on the divine within themselves.
Pagans who live in Greece in the modern world. OR Pagans who worship ancient Greek god(desse)s
Pagans do not generally live in exclusive communities. More commonly we live wherever is convenient (for work, schooling, etc) for us and our families and then go looking for "like minded people" to worship with. Many pagans I know are solitary (or family-centric) in their spiritual path, so they do not even need to find others to worship with.
First- it's pagans. With an a. And yes, most pagans worship a variety of gods and goddesses tailored to their own desires and needs. A few pagans will specialize, or pick only one or two deities to work with exclusively.
Pagans and Wiccans left England in 1620 so that they could freely worship who they wished.
Poseidon was an ancient Greek god. Some modern Pagans also worship him.
There may be some neo-Pagans that are resurrecting the worship of Hephaestus, but the original worship rituals and procedures have mostly been lost. More likely some neo-Pagans have chosen Hephaestus as a deity they connect with and include him and his symbols in the rituals they perform.
No. Christians are monotheists who worship one deity. Pagans are often polytheist. They worship many deities and often welcome the deities of others into their folds.
The main religion worshiping Greek Gods is called Hellenic. Though many New Age Pagans also worship them.
The same as you or I drink. Pagans and Neopagans (this includes Wiccans and Witches) are normal people. They just worship nature. Correction....WE worship nature....i am a neopagan as well...
I think European pagans celebrated Yule, which involved tree worship.
Yes. Paganism is polytheistic, meaning they believe in many deities- Gods and Goddesses alike.
The worst issue is that many Christians thinks that Pagans worship devil. This is not true because Pagans don't believe any entity of pure evil. The root of this steriotypr is that the Pagan god Pan has antlers which are often misinterpreted as the horns of the Christian devil Satan. Not all the Pagans are Vegitarian. Most of the Pagans don't pollute their bodies with narcotics. Pagans are not Hippies. There is a big difference. Pagan, NeoPagan religions includes Wicca, Witchcraft, Shamanism, Druidism, Asatru... etc...
