The events described in the Book of Acts happened in regions along the eastern and northeastern coastline of the Mediterranean Sea.
Acts opens where Luke leaves off, in Bethany of Judea, a mountainous region in the southern part of what is now Israel and Palestine.
Luke 24:49 "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."
Following the events in Jerusalem of Judea, news of God's power in evidence continued to expand.
Acts 8:26,27 "And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And he arose and went..."
Philip traveled as far south as Gaza, in southern Judea. Also in Judea, along the Mediterranean coast, Peter traveled from Joppa to Caesaria, bringing God's Word to the Gentiles.
Acts 10:24 "And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends."
Years later, Barnabas and Paul established a learning center northward in Antioch of Syria.
Acts 11:25,26 "And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch."
The Apostle Paul also traveled to Macedonia in Greece and established fellowships there.
Acts 16:12 "And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days."
Acts 17:1 "Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:"
Acts 18:1 "After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;"
Paul's outreach endeavors brought him to Asia Minor and Galatia as well.
Acts 18:19,23 "And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews. And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples."
The Book of Acts concludes with Paul dwelling in Rome.
Acts 28:16,30,31 "And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard... And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him."
