Since the Temple was destroyed and the holy items stolen, there has been no Temple and therefore no sacrifices.
An offering of fire, or burnt sacrifice, was an offering given up to God by a priest as a means of thanksgiving, atonement, and cleansing. On Yom Kippur there would be a cheif sacrifice offered upon the brazen altar as well as a sprinkling of blood upon the lid of the Ark Of The Covenant. Yeshua Ha Mashiach became our sacrifice and his death was foretold in Isaiah 53 and Psalms 22. His sacrifice was an eternal atonement.
The ancient Mosaic law required the blood sacrifice of animals for the expiation and atonement for sin.
The Blood Atonement is where Jesus Christ shed his blood so that we could be cleansed of our sins. This allows us to get into heaven.
What was the original blood covenant?
In Exodus chapters 25-27, the Lord instructed Moses to build an elaborate ark of the covenant, out of shittim wood, fine linen and cloth, leather, gold and gems. The ark supported a mercy seat of pure gold for God to ride on as the people travelled. The mercy seat was surrounded by two large golden cherubim.
The Bible doesn't say anything about the Jews re-instituting blood sacrifices.
Christians generally believe in what the bible says about atonement. There are 69 references to the atonement of our sins by the blood of bulls and of goats in the Old Testament, but in the new Testament, in Hebrews, the Bible says: 10.4. For [it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. and the writer of Hebrews goes on to talk of Christ's sacrifice for our sins: 10.12. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; And finally, here is the only reference to 'atonement' in the New Testament, which Christians do believe: Romans 5.11. And not only [so], but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
The mercy seat in the Bible is a symbol of God's presence and a place where forgiveness and atonement are sought. It was located on top of the Ark of the Covenant in the Tabernacle and later in the Temple. The high priest would enter the Holy of Holies once a year to sprinkle blood on the mercy seat as a way to seek forgiveness for the sins of the people. This act symbolized the atonement for sins and the reconciliation between God and humanity.
The sacraments are seen as outward signs of inward grace, deeply connected to Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Each sacrament reflects the themes of death, resurrection, and the grace that flows from Christ's atonement. For example, in the Eucharist, believers partake in the body and blood of Christ, commemorating His sacrifice and reaffirming the covenant established through His death. Thus, the sacraments serve as a means for individuals to encounter the redemptive power of Jesus' crucifixion in their spiritual lives.
Genesis 3:22Another Answer:The Edenic Covenant with Adam in the Garden of Eden - sometimes called the "Covenant of Works" and is the first covenant that God made directly with man (Genesis 2:16-17). Disobeying this covenant as noted in Hosea 6:7, had its negatives of toiling the ground all the days of human life. The Scripture does not mention a blood sacrifice as humans were probably vegetarian then. But God did not give up on mankind, and shortly after the expulsion from the Garden of Eden, God made another covenant with Adam & Eve of redemption (see Genesis 3:14-24) pointing to the future sacrifice of Jesus. There have been others afterwards, ending with the New Covenant that was only instituted at the Last Supper with the symbolic cup of wine representing Christ's blood. It will be fully implemented during the Millennial Reign. All Covenants between God and mankind are contracts of marriage. The Old Covenant ended when Jesus died - effectively the death of the groom.

from the beginning God has required a blood sacrifice for atonement. Leviticus 17:11 clearly states, for the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Our new life is found only in the blood of Jesus, which was poured out for us. when we believed in the atoning work of calvary, we receive a transfusion of the life of Jesus Christ.---- by 123Answer:It hasn't been accomplished, yet.If you read about the Day of Atonement described in Leviticus 16... you'll notice that following the sacrifice of the lamb [which pictures Christ's sacrifice]... the high priest [who now represents the "risen Christ"] goes into the Most Holy Place in the Tabernacle with that blood, where the Ark of the Covenant was [which pictures the risen Christ, our High Priest - Heb.4:14; who has GONE TO HEAVEN to the throne of the Father to intercede on our behalf for our sins].THEN -- the high priest COMES BACK out from the Most Holy Place [picturing Jesus returning to the earth and the people of the earth].THEN -- the high priest lays his hands on the head of the "azazel" goat [scapegoat, as some say]... and confesses all the sins of the people upon its head. And the "azazel" goat is removed from the presence of the people.THIS is the completion of the "atonement."Jesus Christ, our High Priest who has ascended to the Father's throne in heaven has not yet returned to "complete the atonement."The annual Holy Day, the Day of Atonement, is a prophecy, like the rest of God's annual Sabbaths that picture to us His plan. This prophecy reveals Jesus returning to earth with the Kingdom of God, and laying all the sins of the world [that He has borne for us] upon the head of he whose sins they truly are -- SATAN THE DEVIL.Notice, the 19th chapter of Revelation, which pictures Jesus' return from heaven [the Most Holy Place]. At the beginning of the 20th chapter, Satan [pictured by the "azazel" goat] is bound and removed for a thousand years from influencing the nations of the world [as pictured by the Day of Atonement proceedings].THIS will be the final atonement... when Jesus rids Himself of the sins of the world that He has borne for us, and PLACES THEM ON SATAN'S HEAD where they truly belong.Until then... Jesus has not yet returned... Satan is still running free... and this Satan-guided world and the deceived nations on it are still wallowing in the sins of its god.
