The five major prophets in Islam are Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. They are considered significant because they are believed to have been chosen by God to deliver important messages to humanity and guide people towards righteousness and faith. Their teachings and actions are highly respected and followed by Muslims as examples of how to live a pious and moral life.

Abraham is regarded as a foundational figure in three major monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In Judaism, he is considered the patriarch of the Israelites and a model of faith. In Christianity, he symbolizes faith and righteousness, while in Islam, he is revered as a prophet and a model of submission to God's will. His covenant with God is a central theme in these traditions, highlighting his significance in religious history.

Major prophets are those who wrote relatively lengthy books in the Old Testament (e.g., Isaiah). Minor prophets are those who wrote relatively short books (e.g., Amos). The term has nothing to do with the significance of their writings.
In the Bible, the distinction between Major and Minor Prophets is based on the length of the prophetic books rather than the significance of the prophets themselves. Daniel is considered a Major Prophet not necessarily because of his qualifications, but because his book is longer and more extensive in content compared to the books of the Minor Prophets. Similarly, Hosea and Zechariah are classified as Minor Prophets because their prophetic books are shorter in length. Each prophet was called by God to deliver His message to the people, regardless of their classification as Major or Minor Prophets.
