The Protocols of the Elders of Zion claims to describe a secret plot put into place by Jews and Masons in order to achieve control of the world through business and society. It has been proved to be a forgery, a hoax and plagiary since much of its material was lifted wholesale from The Dialogue In Hell Between Machiavelli and Montesquieu, an 1864 book written by Maurice Joly.
The book was created sometime between 1895 and 1902. It is not known for certain who worte it, but most scholars agree that it was likely the work of Matvei Golovinski, a Russian journalist and member of the conter-Russian-revolutionary and anti-semitic group Holy Brotherhood.
Though the book was exposed as a fake in 1921 by The Times newspaper, it nevertheless played an instrumental role in the production of Nazi anti-semitic Propaganda. To this day, despite the fact that it is now entirely discredited and ignored by serious scholars, parts of it still regularly surface in literature produced by far-right, neo-fascist and anti-semitic groups.

The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion is widely regarded as a hoax. It was created in the early 20th century as a propaganda tool to fuel anti-Semitic sentiments. The content was fabricated and plagiarized from previous works, with no actual connection to any legitimate Jewish organization or individuals.

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion are 100% fabrication and actually derived from much earlier works published by the Catholic church against breakaway sects like the Protestants and Jesuits. These in turn were derived from claims made by Pagan communities as Christianity began to amass wide-spread attention. In short, this sort of paranoid slander has been going on for as long as there have been people to slander in the first place. The names are changed, a few modern twists are thrown in and the story continues.
And what is the question?
For a start, they wanted (and some still want) people to believe that it is for real, rather than an antisemitic forgery.
