Who are the main angels in Islam?

The two angels named Gabriel (Jibril), Mikael (Mikal), Harut, and Marout mentioned in Quran, chapter 2 (Surat AlBakrah). Also, another angel is the Angel of death (not named in Quran). For more information refer to question below.

1. The Archangel, Jibraeel,

He is one of the most important angels appointed to convey the words of Allah to the prophets, in the form of revelations.

2. Israfeel, The Angel with the Trumpet,

Israfeel is the angel who will blow the Trumpet on the Day of Judgement twice; once to indicate Doomsday and the second time to resurrect everything that once lived. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"Israfeel is awaiting the order of blowing while He grasps the trumpet"

3. Izrael, The Angel of Death,

The duty assigned to this angel is to take the souls of everyone living and, whose time has come.

4. Mikaeel, The Angel of Worldly Events,

This angel is responsible for bringing forth rain, blowing wind and the one who manages the divine work of arts that are planted on the field of earth with the power of Allah and His order.
