Noah's ark (Gen 6) happened many years before the tower of Babel (Gen 11). Gen 11 discusses the flood as a past event. In the Tower of Babel narrative God does not destroy the tower nor the people but alters people's language so they cannot understand each other.
no lot was already married before they came to sodom or gomrrah.
Sodom and Gomorrah were the two cities destroyed by God for the sins of the inhabitants.
Gen:14:1: And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;
Well I think that it came from the sky, the bible really doesn't say but the fuel for the fire was already there and we also know that god has also sent fire from the sky in Egypt.
Answer:"...God... turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly..." (II Peter 2:4-6)."...even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire..." (Jude 1:7).
Gen:11:31: And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. Gen:13:10: And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. Ur of the Chaldees was a city outside of Canaan where Abraham once lived with his family. Sodom and Gomorrah were cities inside of Canaan near to where Abraham lived.The cities were similar in that they were wicked, but that's about it.
"The bed of Sodom" is an expression from Hebrew mythology describing evil or sometimes a situation in which freedom of movement or choice is limited. In the bible (genesis 18), we are told that god wanted to obliterate the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah because their people were sinners. A Hebrew legend gives us an example of their sins: In Sodom, they had a special bed for visitors. When an outsider came to town he had to sleep in this bed, if he was too tall and his feet would stick out of the bed they would cut his feet short to fit in it. If he was too short, they would stretch his limbs until he would fit in the bed.
Genesis (13:13)"The men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly."This verse doesn't say what the Sodomites did to make them such exceedingly great sinners, though most bible believers equate "Sodomite" with homosexual. (But see Ezekiel 16:49, which claims the sins of Sodom were pride, gluttony, sloth, greed, and failure to help the poor.)AnswerThe people of Sodom and Gomorrah engaged in depraved homosexual acts. God sent angels to the city of Sodom to see how bad things were: "Then the Lord said to Abraham, 'There are terrible accusations against Sodom and Gomorrah, and their sin is very great. I must go down to find out whether or not the accusations which I have heard are true.' (Genesis 18:20-21). On arriving in Sodom, the angels were met by Abraham's nephew Lot. Knowing the men of the city were sexual deviants, Lot urged these two visitors to stay at his home: "He kept urging them, and finally they went with him to his house. Lot ordered his servants to bake some bread and prepare a fine meal for the guests. When it was ready, they ate it." (Genesis 19:3). The magnitude of how sinful the men of Sodom and Gomorrah were is seen by their blatant disregard for committing a shocking act upon two men they didn't know: "Before the guests went to bed, the men of Sodom surrounded the house. All the men of the city, both young and old, were there. They called out to Lot and asked, 'Where are the men who came to stay with you tonight? Bring them out to us!' The men of Sodom wanted to have "sex" with them." (Genesis 19:4-5). Since it is only possible for a man and a woman to have sexual intercourse, the term used for two men engaging in a homosexual act is Sodomy, which derives from the word Sodom. The angels helped Lot, his wife and his two daughters out of the city, then God burned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. All who remained there were burned to death: "Suddenly the Lord rained burning sulphur on the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and destroyed them and the whole valley, along with all the people there and everything that grew on the land." (Genesis 19:24-25). Homosexuality is as much a sin today as it was back then. God decreed a law against the abhorrent act: "If a man has sexual relations with another man, they have done a digusting thing, and both shall be put to death. They are responsible for their own death." (Leviticus 20:13). Scriptures taken from the 'Sunrise Good News Bible.'Gommorah in parsi which is driven from sanskrit(ver ancient) means people who have lost their path, obviusly in ths case meaning the paht of righteousness.You should also not the passages that refer to Sodom in Jude 1:7. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
The movie Gomorrah came out in 2009. The movie is about organized crime spotlighting the Neapolitan mafia. The film was created by film maker Matteo Garrone.
Genesis 14:1-2 introduces the kings in the land at the time of Abraham. And the first king of Israel was King Saul. Genesis 14:1-2 "And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations; That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar."
That is a very debatable question. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of the great amount of sin found in those cities. "But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the LORD." Genesis 13:13 (NKJV) "For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the LORD and the LORD has sent us to destroy it." Genesis 19:13 (NKJV) And amongst all those sins we find that homosexuality was very popular in these cities. Genesis 19:5 " And they called to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came with you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally." (NKJV)
The first time that Noah sent it out, the dove simply returned to him in the ark. The second time, the dove came back with an olive leaf. The third time, it did not return, giving evidence that it was possible and safe for Noah to leave the ark. (Genesis 8:8-12)
