Satan names: Satan, Lucifer, Father of Lies, deceiver, devil, the wicked one, abaddon, adversary, angel of light, thief, tempter, star, ruler of this world,
Satan according to the Bible was an angel [Lucifer]. He was the most beautiful angel that God created. He was an angel who wanted to take over heaven. God knew of his plan and cast him and his followers to the earth.
When God made, man and women, Adam and Eve; the serpent spoke in the Garden, Satan entered the serpent and Satan spoke to Eve tricking her to eat from the only tree that God did not want Adam and Eve to eat from. Because once they ate from this tree, they would know good and evil. Satan's deceptiveness worked and Eve ate from the tree and convinced Adam to eat also. God cursed the serpent for the sake of Satan. In this curse, God cursed Satan also using symbolic language.
He was the brother of Jesus
He was sent here by God to test humans
He and his angels populated the earth in the beginning until their children were destroyed in the flood.
He is the idea of Evil but does not actually exist in a form.
Satan is not all knowing or all seeing- God is the only being who is omniscient, Omnipresent.
Satan is not behind every bad thing that happens to someone. - If you lose your job because you were late, it might not have been Satan's fault. If you trip over something and bust your head open because you were not watching where you were going, again not Satan's fault. If you are, fasting, praying, and your car will not start, maybe. If you are preaching to someone and you are shot, good chance Satan has some work in it. If the world is led by a dictator convincing everyone to kill all Christians- YEP that would be Satan.
Does Satan rule this world- YES, until of the time he is cast out into his fiery pit. He has dominion over this world, but this dominion was given by God and God has the final judgment and decision. Satan is still subject to God. (John 12:31)
Satan cannot be more than one place at one time. - He is not omnipresent He can move across the earth at lightning speeds. He also has many demons and spirits to do his bidding at any time.
Satan does not torture whoever he wants, whenever he wants. - The Bible talks about Satan still having to come in front of God and ask for permission to torture Job.
Satan does not love those who worship him or follow him.- Satan hates man and is jealous of man wanting man to be destroyed with him.
Satan does not live in your music- It is possible to undergo demonic attacks because of music as well as music that is not pleasing to God is pleasing to Satan for one reason. See question above for that reason.
Burning books will not hurt Satan or his cause- In fact, it will probably help his cause because the human mind will see this as a random act of insanity, leading people away from God. HINT~ if Hitler did it, the church might want to avoid replicating the behavior.
Satan is Not whoever has the name with letters adding up to six for each name- 666 the number of the beast, was most likely not talking about the number of letters in a name because if so which language of the name? It is most likely not a telephone or social security number either.
Satan made me do it- Satan or his angels in extreme circumstances have been known to take over someone, although you are here of your own free will and you have ability to control your own actions. On the other hand, Satan can torture you with spirits, demons, and or [if you happen to be a major threat] himself. Thus, if you allow him in your life with your actions and welcome him and his spirits, you can be possessed or controlled through suggestion. Someone with Christ in their life cannot be possessed although they can be oppressed. They cannot be possessed because "greater is he who is in me than he who is in the world" this refers to Christ and the spirit being in you and good and evil cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Now a Christian can be oppressed meaning tortured, suggested to, or even attacked by Satan or his angels.
Do I need to fear Satan? Is He powerful? - No and Yes. "God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of Power, love, and a sound mind". Does the army of 5 million with machine guns need to fear the army of 500 with swords? They should respect their power and acknowledge the threat they can pose against them. Know your enemy. Satan is a defeated foe but he is a worthy adversary. A Christian has no reason to fear Satan but instead to be aware of him and his tricks. Someone without Christ needs read the above question. Satan is not omnipotent but he is a supernatural being with super natural abilities, and knowledge from being around for a long time.
What is the fate of Satan? Satan has a place called hell that burns forever where he will be placed when his time is out. God allotted Satan this time because God is full of grace and mercy. It is believed that God uses Satan to show people they have a choice, they can choose God out of their own free will, not because they are forced to serve him. People can also go to hell because people, much like Satan, are creations that ultimately cannot die. Satan is a spirit and cannot die and man has a soul that also cannot die.
So finally...
WHO IS SATAN- The enemy of humans convincing humans there is no god and that god is not worthy to be worshiped or praised.
