In my opinion: The Egypt that Jesus leads us out of is the inability to achieve salvation. Jesus enabled people to go to heaven. However, unlike the story of the Jews' escape from Egypt, not all of us will escape to paradise. We must give to the least of his people is he is to save us.

North of the Red Sea is the Suez Canal which leads into the Mediterranean Sea. South of the Red Sea is the Bab-el-Mandeb strait which leads into the Gulf of Aden, then the Arabian Sea and then the Indian Ocean. West of the Red Sea are Egypt, Sudan and Eritrea. East of it is Saudi Arabia and Aden.
The modernization of Egypt lead to British rule because the British actually just took over. They changed the way that the people traded with other countries and even affected their religious beliefs.

Yes, it flows north into the delta that leads into the Mediteranean Sea. But I think that more of the Nile flow through other sides of Lake Victoria, but I'm not positive. To make things simpler, YEP IT DOES.
