That's a bit backwards as God is the Creator and we His Creation. Reading the opening chapters of the Book of Genesis we find the whole of mankind sinning and God being disappointed in creating him. He destroyed all but the family of righteous Noah. But shortly after they began to repopulate the Earth, mankind again rebelled against God at the Tower of Babel. But God chose Abraham to 'call out' and become the Father of the Faithful. Through him, God established His Covenant and example peoples with the Promise of our Savior:

Deuteronomy 7:7-9New King James Version (NKJV)

7 The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; 8 but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

9 "Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

Romans 4:3New King James Version (NKJV)

3 For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."

Through the faithfulness of Abraham to the 12 tribes and their descendants, to our Savior, Jesus Christ, it is we humans who are learning to trust God and look forward to the promise of becoming His spiritual sons and daughters.
